Diego Sanchez is an elite UFC welterweight contender. Sanchez has a strong background in wrestling and Gaidojutsu. He won the first season of The Ultimate Fighter, defeating Kenny Florian in the middleweight division. Shortly after, Sanchez dropped to welterweight, defeating Brian Gassaway, Nick Diaz, John Alessio, Karo Parisyan, and Joe Riggs. He is now at lightweight, and won his first fight in his new weight class defeating TUF 2 winner Joe Stevenson at UFC 95.
