'UFC 79: Nemesis' faces stiff competition

'UFC 79: Nemesis' faces stiff competition
If you thought the UFC had tough competition during The Ultimate Fighter 6 Finale with the Ricky Matton - Floyd Mayweather fight, it's going to be a hell of a lot worse this Saturday. UFC 79: Nemesis will be going up against the New England Patriots - New York Giants game. Even worse, the game will be broadcast on both CBS and NBC.

It was announced today that the game which is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, regular season NFL game in years will not air on the NFL Network as originally scheduled, but instead will the the first NFL game in recent memory that will be broadcast on two networks in CBS and NBC. If the Patriots are victorious, they would be the first NFL team since the Miami Dolphins in 1972 to finish undefeated in the regular season (the Dolphins went on to win the Super Bowl that year as well).

The IFL is also scheduled to run its live Grand Prix finals that same night at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT.
