Tito Ortiz Signs Deal With Affliction
Tito Ortiz Signs Deal With AfflictionTito Ortiz and Affliction announced today at a press conference that Tito Ortiz will join Affliction...as a broadcaster.

Ortiz was introduced today as the color commentator for Afflictions upcoming show entitled "Day of Reckoning".

"This has nothing to do with me fighting for Affliction," Ortiz Announced. "Tom (Atencio) is a friend of mine, and he came to me and said, 'Tito, what would you think about commentating?' I think I may know a little bit about MMA. I think I've been doing it for 11 years. I'm going to be very colorful. I'm going to be the color commentator on Jan. 24."

Ortiz will join M-1 announcers Sean Weelock and Jimmy smith in replacing former Affliction announcers Jay Glazer, Frank Trigg and John McCarthy.

Ortiz also addressed the possibility of joining Affliction as a fighter.

"As far as me fighting for Affliction, I'm going to fulfill my obligations with the UFC, and that will be until June 2009," said Ortiz. "But until then, I'm going to work on my commentating. Color commentating is something I've always wanted to do."

Ortiz went on to explain that he believes he will continue to compete professionally for four more years. However, Ortiz expects to be out of action for at least the next four months as he continues to heal from a back surgery he underwent in back in October.
