Chuck Liddell Speaks About Hamstring Injury
Chuck Liddell Speaks About Hamstring Injury
The bad news that came out of the UFC yesterday was Chuck Liddell having to pull out of his fight with Rashad Evans at UFC 85 in London because of a hamstring injury. Liddell spoke to fans via his social networking site (MMAJacked) about the injury saying, “well I was training and I popped the hamstring pretty bad and it looks like their [the UFC] gonna pull the fight on us.”

Liddell has been extremely dependable for both the UFC and his fans in his MMA career, “this is the first time that I’ve ever had to pull out of a fight. I’ve fought injured plenty of times,” Liddell continued.

The UFC is definitely in a bind now, as the best possible Light Heavyweight match-up they could put together outside of Forrest Griffin vs. Quinton Jackson has blown up in their faces. First Mauricio “Shogun” Rua re-injured his surgically repaired knee, and now Liddell has been forced out with an injured hamstring.

When asked about a possible return Liddell responded, “I’ll be fighting probably [in] August, September. You never know we’ll see what they come up with.”

The UFC also put up a picture on their website showing the extent of Chuck Liddell’s torn right hamstring.
