Round 1: MacDonald started off aggressive and took Maia down and Maia pulled guard. Maia locked in a deep triangle and Joe Rogan noted that it was over, but MacDonald was able to power out and get a rear naked choke! Maia escaped and MacDonald was back on top. MacDonald locked in a tight guillotine for several moments but Maia was able to get MacDonald's back and tried to secure a rear naked choke but MacDonald didn't tap as the round ended. Amazing first round, I'd score it 10-9 Maia, but MacDonald showed phenomenal heart gutting out that triangle.

Round 2: They started the round swinging and Maia caught MacDonald with a hard left. Maia took MacDonald down and landed some hard shots and elbows but MacDonald was able to intelligently defend himself. Maia dominated on the ground and tried to transition to an armbar but MacDonald was able to get out and finish the round on top. 10-9 Maia.

MacDonald's corner is yelling at him to not take Maia to the ground and to knock Maia down. Adrian Peterson was shown at ringside and got a big ovation.

Round 3: The two went to the ground and a couple of minutes into the ground, Maia was able to secure a rear naked choke forcing MacDonald to tap.
