Round 3 - Both exchange shots, clinch against the fence. Scramble on the groun, and Nate lands an illegal shot to the back of the head. Another point deduction for Marquardt. The actions slows and the fighters move around in the center of the cage. Nate takes Leites down, with Thales's back against the fence. Nate tries to pass Thales's guard, almost gets caught in a kimura. Both work to the feet and Nate pulls out the WWE-style piledriver. and then lands a knee to Thales's face. Bell sounds. Another round to Nate, but minus a point it should be 9-9.
Marquardt should get the nod in this one, even though he had a point taken away in rounds 2 and 3. Leites took some damage to his face. 28-27, Leites, 28-27 Marquardt, 28-27 Leites.
Wow - Leites gets the decision because of the fouls by Marquardt. Nate didn't really get beat by Thales, he got beat by...himself.
It's been a strange first 2 fights here in London.
Is it just me or is anyone else confused a little with Marcus Davis - nickname is the "Irish Hand Grenade," he wears a kilt into the octagon, and just called London his "hometown." I would be 0% surprised if he started using a British accent when he talks.
Marcus Davis vs. Mike Swick
Round 1 - Fight starts with both fighters bouncing around the cage. Swick tries a flying knee, blocked by Davis, who pushes him against the fence. Dais tries for a guillotine, Swick escapes and stays in Davis's loose guard against the fence. Mike pushes Marcus against the fence, passes to half-guard. Both fighters are just working for position with Swick continuing to try and pass guard. Pretty tame ground and pound for Swick until the bell sounds. Swick takes that round 10-9, basically just for controlling position. Small cut on Davis shows a little blood.
Round 2 - Trading some shots back and forth. Swick takes Davis down again and lands in full guard. Finally passes to side control, but doesn't hold that for long - back to half-guard. Crowd is starting to whistle and boo. Small scramble, then back to the feet. Good little combination for Davis as they work alongside the fence on their feet. Trading knees to the body now. Davis takes down Swick, Mike tries for a triangle. Davis stands, Swick responds by putting Davis on his back. Round comes to a close. Close round, but I see it 10-9 for Swick again. No damage really being done, but he's controlling where the fight is taking place.
Round 3 - Measuring each other, quick knee from Swick. Davis lands a couple of looping punches but nothing hard. Clinched against the fence again. Point taken from Swick for holding the fence. Swick takes down Davis when fight resumes, and Davis has a pretty bad cut on his face. Slow-paced ground and pound with Swick in Davis's full guard. The fight comes to a close with both fighters throwing windmill punches. Looked like they were practicing their swimming. Going to the scorecards for the 2nd fight in a row. Should be 9-9 because of the point taken away from Swick. Should be 29-27, Swick.
