Big Nog Undergoes Knee Surgery
Big Nog Undergoes Knee SurgeryAntonio Rodrigo Nogueira underwent successful knee surgery last Saturday. Nogueira suffered a difficult loss to Frank Mir at UFC 92 this past December, but reportedly entered the fight just weeks after recovering from a staph infection. However, according to Muay Thai trainer Luiz Alves, the staph infection was the least of Nogueira's worries entering the fight.

"Minotauro had a knee surgery and will be back to Brazil next weekend." Alves told Tatame. "He shouldn't have done this fight with Mir; his knee was going out all the time."

As for his future, a fight with Randy Couture has been rumored but appears uncertain as Couture is currently filming a movie and is healing from a surgery of his own.

"He was supposed to fight Randy [Couture], but I don't know," said Alves. "They haven't confirmed it yet, and Couture also did a surgery on his elbow. But I prefer this fight, it'll be good to Rodrigo. They want this fight and I believe it won't be that difficult to Rodrigo. It's a tough fight, but I think Randy has no knockout power in his punch and, on the ground, Rodrigo will submit."
