 Sources have confirmed to fightline, in a report originally broken by MMAWeekly, that the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board will not sanction a boxing match between former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia, who has no boxing experience, and former heavyweight boxing champion Ray Mercer (36-7-1).
The heavyweight boxing tilt was originally expected to headline an otherwise all MMA Adrenaline III card.
Replacements are being sought out for the top of the card but nothing is eminent at this time.
Other sites are currently being sought out to host the Sylvia/Mercer boxing contest the fight could go off as early as June.
