Round 1: Whitehead started with some inside leg kicks early. Randleman was able to take Whitehead down, but Whitehead was able to power back to his feet. Whitehead was able to take Randleman down, but they were back to their feet shortly after. Whitehead scored another takedown but Randleman reversed and they were back on their feet. Whitehead scored yet another takedown and Randleman seems to be gassing. Whitehead landed some good body shots but Randleman was able to reverse yet again and get to his feet. Whitehead landed some jabs while on their feet and went for another takedown, which he was able to get. He stayed on top of Randleman as the round came to an end. FightLine.com scores this round 10-9 for Whitehead.

Round 2: Whitehead landed a right hook early. Whithead got a takedown again and got side control. Whitehead controlled Randleman and the crowd started to boo a little, probably spoiled from all the stoppages in the preliminary bouts. Whitehead got the full mount and tried for some ground and pound, but Randleman was able to wiggle out and get back to his feet and nail Whitehead with a left hook. The rest of the round remained standing with little damage done. Another 10-9 round for Whitehead.

Round 3: Randleman landed a big overhand right which rocked Whitehead, and Whitehead responded with a right of his own. Randleman nailed Whitehead with a massive right that knocked Whitehead and started wailing away on him and went to the ground, but Whitehead was able to recover. It almost looked over, but Whitehead recovered, Randleman looked like he might have missed an opportunity to finish whitehead. Randleman landed some straight left jabs before Whitehead took Randleman down. Whitehead just laid on Randleman, but Randleman was able to power back up with 40 seconds left in the round. Whitehead nailed Randleman with a right hook, but Randleman stayed standing. They tried to trade blows as the round came to a close. 10-9 Randleman.

Winner via unanimous decision (all judges scored it 29-28): Mike Whitehead.
