Anderson Silva Tries To Silence His Critics, Says He's Ready For Forrest Griffin
Anderson Silva Tries To Silence His Critics, Says He's Ready For Forrest GriffinUFC middleweight champion Anderson "The Spider" Silva says he’s on top of his game, and those who don’t think so because of his previous fight with Thales Leites at UFC 97 are “simply uneducated about MMA.” Silva spoke out against his critics during a recent UFC 101 conference call, where he also stated that he is ready to square off against former light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin at UFC 101: Declaration.

Silva, who has dominated the 185-pound weight class, is moving up a weight class to face Griffin. The 34-year old said that he doesn’t see himself being at a huge disadvantage against Griffin’s 6’3”, 205 pound frame since he “usually sits at 215/220 (lbs.) and trains regularly with larger guys.”

As for Griffin’s game plan, the former TUF winner says that he plans to engage Silva. But he admits, “It’s hard to engage him, but I’ll do it smartly.”

Silva faces Griffin this Saturday at UFC 101: Declaration. The event is headlined by a UFC lightweight championship bout between champion BJ Penn defending against top contender, Kenny Florian.
