Gegard Mousasi Planning To Stay At Light Heavyweight
Gegard Mousasi Planning To Stay At Light Heavyweight Former Dream middleweight champion and current Strikeforce light heavyweight king Gegard Mousasi states that he intends to remain at the larger weight class for the next few years, but after that, look out Brock Lesnar.

“I’m planning to fight (at) 205 for two or three years, get a little bit older, put on some muscle,” Mousasi stated after of his impressive 60 second knockout of Renato “Babalu” Sobral at “Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg” last week.

It wasn’t too long ago when Mousasi easily took Dream’s Middleweight Grand Prix crown before voluntarily relinquishing the title to peruse other ventures. He’s currently slated to face Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou in the semifinals of the Super Hulk Tournament at Dream.11 in October.

Because Sokoudjou also fights at 205, size won’t play a factor in this particular scrap, however bigger challenges isn’t something that Mousasi is about to shy away from.

“I see myself also fighting at heavyweight in the future,” stated MMA’s best unknown superstar. “Eventually, I will go to heavyweight but not right now,” he said. “But the ‘Super Hulk’ tournament, I have to fight heavyweight. Heavyweights are also good, but being also very big, the disadvantage is I feel with speed and explosiveness, (but) I can beat also the heavier guys.”

Mousasi has actually be beating everybody in his path as he’s been perfect through his last 13 bouts en route to an impressive 26-2-1 professional mark.
