While quite satisfied with his quick knockout victory over Demian Maia, Nathan Marquardt stopped short of demanding an immediate shot at UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva.
Though Marquardt campaigned for the title shot in his post-fight interview, when the press conference for UFC 102 arrived, Marquardt took a more hesitant approach.
Aware that Dan Henderson, following a UFC 100 knockout win over Michael Bisping, is also in the mix, Marquardt simply said he will be excited for whomever he is booked to next battle.
Having scored impressive victories over top middleweights like Martin Kampmann, Wilson Gouveia and now Demian Maia, Marquardt is nonetheless working hard to show he deserves a rematch with pound-for-pound king Anderson Silva.
