Dana White Leaves Chuck Liddell's Door Open For Return To UFC
Dana White Leaves Chuck Liddell's Door Open For Return To UFC Although his fighting future is still in doubt, former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell’s retirement door hasn’t been closed yet by president Dana White. “When [Chuck Liddell's] done dancing I’m sure he’s gonna be looking for me,” White jokingly said following UFC 102.

Since losing to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua via TKO at UFC 97, White has been one of the biggest detractors for Liddell making another appearance inside the Octagon.

However, it seems that he may be backtracking a little bit, feeling Liddell may have something left in the tank.

White admitted that Liddell was blowing up his cell phone during UFC 102 saying, “Everybody knows how I feel about the Chuck [Liddell] thing. Trust me, Chuck was texting me all night tonight about fighting again.”

After Randy Couture’s loss to Antontio Rodrigo Nogueira on Saturday night, White was asked if he would be opposed to signing a fourth bout between Couture and Liddell down the road.

“I don’t know if people want to see [Randy Couture] and Chuck four times,” White responded.

Neither White or Liddell has the answer to what the future holds for the former light heavyweight champion, but it’s clear Liddell’s itch to fight may need to be scratched at some point down the line.
