Frank Mir And Cheick Kongo Square Off At UFC 107
Frank Mir And Cheick Kongo Square Off At UFC 107 Another report has surfaced claiming that the heavyweight scrap between former two-time UFC champion Frank Mir and Cheick Kongo is a go for UFC 107 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Although the bout has been rumored for weeks, MMAWeekly.com has confirmed with sources close to the situation that both parties have agreed to the fight and contracts should be signed and submitted shortly.

Kongo holds a 14-5-1 pro mark, however dropped a convincing unanimous decision to Cain Velasquez at UFC 99 in his last outing.

Speaking of being dominated, Mir unsuccessfully applied the face-to-fist defense against Brock Lesnar at UFC 100. Although Mir fought valiantly, he was simply overpowered by the massive undisputed heavyweight champion.

The timing of this report couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, as it was reported earlier this week that Kongo’s Wolfslair teammate, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, would be pulling out of his highly anticipated grudge match with his “The Ultimate Fighter 10" coaching counterpart Rashad Evans due to scheduling conflicts caused by his role as B.A Baracus in the new “A-Team” movie.

The December 12th event is expected to feature UFC lightweight champion BJ Penn defending his title against Diego Sanchez. The bout will mark “The Ultimate Fighter 1" middleweight winner’s first five round affair, however that has more to do with his division hopping than his MMA game.
