Vitor Belfort Agrees To Fight With Anderson Silva
Vitor Belfort Agrees To Fight With Anderson Silva Fresh off of his big win over former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin, Vitor Belfort says he’s ready for his next opponent. And he’s hoping that will be UFC middleweight champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva. Belfort has verbally agreed to fight Silva, and is waiting to hear if “The Spider” has accepted.

"There's nothing confirmed yet,” Belfort recently told Terra.com.br.

“There is a verbal agreement on my part. Now it has to do with the champion, Anderson. It is the champion who is in charge.”

Belfort went on to say that UFC President Dana White told him that he wants the fight to happen.

“Dana really wants to do this fight, he has said that," Belfort explained. "He decides who I fight. I do not have to run looking for anything. I seek to do my job and not to go get some personal feud.”

Belfort returned to the octagon after a four-year absence from the UFC. A win over Silva would be the crowning moment of his comeback.

“Now we have to wait to see if the fight goes. I'm hoping the same as you are,” he joked.

If Anderson Silva accepts the fight, it will likely take place at UFC 108, which will be taking place inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 2, 2010.
