During a recent THQ press conference to promote their highly popular UFC Undisputed 2009 video game in Japan, UFC middleweight fighter Yoshihiro Akiyama confirmed that he will be fighting former PrideFC middleweight champion Wanderlei Silva at UFC 111.
Sherdog.com was the first to report the bout, however did mention that it might be possible these two could square off against one another at UFC 110, but it would make more sense for them to headline UFC 111, which is rumored to be in Australia.
The bout will be Silva’s first official Octagon fight at 185-lbs., while Akiyama will be making his second appearance for the UFC after beating Alan Belcher at UFC 100.
