Shogun's Coach Predicts Lyoto Machida Getting Knocked Out In The Third Round
Shogun's Coach Predicts Lyoto Machida Getting Knocked Out In The Third Round Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (18-3) is excited for what he calls "the fight of my life" next week against UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida (15-0) at UFC 104 on October 24th.

“This fight is very important," Shogun recently admitted to Sherdog. "It’s two Brazilians fighting for one belt."

Shogun's coach, Andre Dida, told Terra.com.br that Shogun is very confident going into the fight and will anticipate all of Machida's moves.

“He is very confident," Dida stated of Shogun's mindset. "He’ll face a striker and he is trained for it. It won’t be only a stand-up fight but Mauricio is ready to surprise everybody. Shogun is well-trained. We worked knowing that Lyoto is an athlete who moves very much. We know how this fight will go and have A, B, C and D plans. Shogun will know all the moves from Machida".

Dida also went on to make a prediction, and said that he felt Shogun will not only hand Machida the first loss of his career, but that it will be via knockout.

“I think this fight won’t go past the third round," Dida predicted. "Shogun will knock out him in the third round for sure. Shogun is going to be the unique guy to show the world how to beat Lyoto."

UFC 104 takes place from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA on October 24. Other fights on the card include Joe Stevenson vs. Spencer Fisher and Ben Rothwell vs. Cain Velasquez.
