Shane Carwin Says Fight With Brock Lesnar Will Take Place At UFC 108 On Jan. 2nd
Shane Carwin Says Fight With Brock Lesnar Will Take Place At UFC 108 On Jan. 2nd After today's big announcement that Brock Lesnar would have to withdraw from his UFC 106 title defense against Shane Carwin due to illness, Carwin noted on his Twitter account that his bout with Lesnar will probably take place at UFC 108 on January 2nd, 2010.

"Looks like it [the fight] is posponed till Jan 2," Carwin tweeted. "I had h1ni myself and I understand how devastaing it can be."

Lesnar had been out of training camp for nearly a month due to his illness, and UFC President Dana White noted that Lesnar had been sick for a long time, although he didn't believe that the illness was H1N1 (swine flu).

UFC 106 takes place on November 21st inside the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and is now headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin. The bout is a rematch of their UFC 59 bout in April of 2006, a bout that Ortiz won via split decision.
